Stairway to Heaven

Stairway to Heaven

Their are a number of things that are beloved by me. For example, the camera that my grandfather gifted me when I went to college, the American flag and how much I love my country, and how my oldest son became a firefighter like I was, to name a few.

But the one thing that is beloved by me the most is my love for and relationship with Jesus Christ.

Growing up I attended the school at my local Catholic parish, this was both grade school and junior high school. Every week we would use this stairway to get to different locations in the building, and on one level of the stairway was this beautiful statue of Jesus with the Sacred Heart.

Every time that I passed by this statue I would stop for a second and say to Jesus how much I loved him, and pray ‘The Jesus Prayer’. Simply,

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner, for O’Lord I trust in you”.

Because of this my love for Jesus became stronger and over time I saw signs in my life, as I still do today, how Jesus loves me more than I could ever love him. For example, I no longer worry, because worry is a sign that I think I’m in control.

But when we look for signs of how Jesus is at work in our life, truly want His will for our life, and ask Him to show us, then we start to see how Jesus can work in our lives as soon as we get our of our own way.

Ask yourself this, “Am I reaching out to touch Jesus, so that He can touch me, and through this touch others?”

Enjoy your day,
